Farting not allowedThe female cast of Gone With the Wind, specifically Vivien Leigh had a strange problem! Although she had these passionate scenes with Clark Gable, she would emerge from these scenes green faced, surfacing to breathe in sobs. Hands at the shoot were alarmed and discreetly enquired of her. It was Clark Gable’s breath, she confided, in Hollywood he became famous for his bad breath. Actresses in Hollywood were terrified of being cast opposite him! (Note please we haven’t talked about any contemporary actor fearing libel action!)

The flights have a similar problem without the bonus of being kissed by someone as desirable as Vivien Leigh! The proximity of seats in the cheapest flights available necessarily has to find every square inch working hard to earn the airline money. Result, whether you like it or not, you are up close to many strangers. And this is not just in the mad scramble when you are trying to get off the plane but also during the flight!

onion causes bad breathAs most actors would advice you ‘when you have an intimate scene avoid garlic or onions in your preceding meal!’ Similarly, avoid both before flying. There are a few who don’t care and you will find them even doing even more personal things, like farting, thinking the sound of the plane will mask the sound and the many contenders would never be able to pin the blame on the real offender. But this is obnoxious; imagine if everyone in the flight believed likewise the airplane would become a stink bomb of Hydrogen Sulphide.

The Toilet is another area where our civic sense is put to test. In the cheaper flights the Toilet takes the biggest toll. Finally entering the cubicle and shutting the door the scene reveals itself in total mayhem. Toilet paper strewn, messy and wash basin clogged. There are two options, somehow finish what you came in to do and stumble out or call the cabin staff to help clean up and then use it and make sure you leave behind a clean toilet. If not anything the next person who goes in will look at you with gratitude.
