Day 1 - 2 Chennai
A Very Warm Welcome to South India. After the custom formalities are over and you clear immigration, our representative from Incredible India Travels will assist you to your hotel.
After breakfast you will be visiting the Oldest Anglican Church of St. Mary’s, Fort St. George, St. Thomas Cathedral, the Marina Beach which is the Second Longest Beach in the World and the Mylapore Temple. Not far from Chennai lies the, "City of Seven Pagodas" or Mahabalipuram out of which Five Pagodas have immersed into the ocean. Mahabalipuram is also famous for Kanchipuram Silk Sarees.
Day 3 - 4 Chennai/ Trichy
After breakfast drive to Trichy (300 kms - 6 hours) located on one of the Major Rivers in India the Kaveri river. Tiruchirappalli known as Trichy is a Historic Chola City where antiquity and modernity shake hands.
Several Beautiful Rock-Cut Temples, the Hundred Pillared Hall and the Rock Fort all stand guard over the Kaveri.
After breakfast enjoy a full day excursion to Tanjore better known as Thanjavur is one of the literary chief political religious centre’s of South India, known for it contribution to Karnatak music and producing many Bharatnatyam dancers and classical musicians. Also visit the Brihadeeswara Temple also called the ‘Big Temple’ that is dedicated to Lord Shiva and the architecture belongs to the Chola period. The Chola architects who planned out its construction planned it in such a way that the shadow of the cupola never falls on the ground and that’s what is said that this Temple is considered an engineering skill.
Day 5 - 6 Trichy / Madurai
In the morning drive to one of the Oldest Cities in India. The City of Madurai. It was the Capital City of the Pandya kings of South India with a history that dates back all the way to the pre Christian era of the Sangam period.
In the morning drive to Periyar one of the 27 Tiger Reserves in India. It is at a distance of 135 kms which will take 4.5 hrs to get there. You would come across more than 260 types of Birds which are found here. It is home to a large population of Elephants.
The Sanctuary is a natural habitat to a wide variety of wildlife which includes Leopards, Bison, Wild Boar, Spotted Deer, Sambar Deer, Jungle Cats, Stripe Necked Mongoose, Langurs, Moneys and a rare species of Malabar Flying Squirrels.
In the morning go on a boat ride on the Periyar Lake to view Water Birds, Wildlife and after which you will drive to Kumarakom which is a Cluster of Little Islands on the Vembanad Lake in Kerala.
After breakfast its time to relax as your day is at leisure. If you wish you could enjoy a Boat Ride along the Back Waters, Identify Rare Species of Birds or simply Rejuvenate by opting for an Ayurvedic Massage.
Alappuzha the ‘Venice of the East’ welcomes you to the Backwaters of Kerala. Washed by the silvery Waves of the Arabian Sea, bustling with glimpses from day to day life of the Country side. Picture Perfect Lakesides and its Long Sandy Beaches, The Palm Fringed Canals and Shores have blessed the Water Locked District to become one of the Best Backwater Destinations In Gods Own Country.
Drive to Cochin often referred to as the “Queen of the Arabian Sea” where you will be visiting the Ancient Jewish Synagogue Palace. Also you will see the Chinese Fishing Nets over the Back Waters swaying in the breeze. Later on in the evening enjoy a wonderful Traditional Kathakali dance Performance.
Day 10 - 11 Cochin / Bangalore
In the morning fly to once known as “City of Gardens”, The City of Bangalore now India’s Silicon Valley with an increase in population and wealth. Though you will explore plenty of culture and tradition but don’t forget to visit the famous Lal Bagh Botanical Gardens.
After breakfast drive to Mysore which is referred to and popularly known as the “Sandalwood City"
Day 12 - 13 Mysore
The biggest attraction in Mysore is the Magnificent Maharaja’s Palace one of the most Splendid Places in India with Dome Sculptures, Arches and Huge Gateways. Also visit Chamundi hill. The Temple was named after the Royal Family Goddess . On the way you will come across a 16 foot statue of the Nandi Bull which has been carved out of a single massive boulder. In the evening visit the beautifully laid Brindavan Gardens on the banks of the Krishna Sagar Dam with silvery fountains and bright flowers to add to the beauty.
After breakfast get to the Railway Station for your train journey to Chennai. On arrival in Chennai you will be assisted to the International Airport for your onward flight.
